I was young I was dumb

I had no Idea what I would become

Perhaps it was the warnings that made it alluring

Perhaps it was the singing That was ringing

From the ring

So often they’d warn us “Don’t enter the forest”

But that's where it starts, and where it ends

When I needed some time alone I’d wander far from home

Deep beyond the forest edge

That’s where I heard, like the song of a bird,

A melody so enchanting

I followed the sound, and soon I’d found

A flawless, perfect

Fairy Ring

“This is why…”

Oh, how far I wandered

How deeply I wondered

There before me

A circle of glory

Drawn by some divine hand

Mushrooms sparkling

I stood marveling

Listening

to the singing

From the Fairy Ring

But Curiosity

And that melody

I closed my eyes

and stepped inside
